At Timberhill Dental, we love giving back to the community in Corvallis and throughout Oregon– as well as around the world. For over a decade we’ve been buying back Halloween candy from local kids and making mouthguards to protect high school athletes.
Today, we’re going to talk about what we’ve got planned for the coming months, including an exciting fundraiser and our famous Patient Appreciation Swim Party!
The 2017 Oregon Dental Conference
In early April, we’ll be attending the Oregon Dental Conference at the Convention Center in Portland. This is an exciting time for us! Our entire staff will be attending and will take continuing education courses in their area of expertise. We’ll learn about new techniques and new tools that we can use to make your next trip to the dentist better than ever before! This is also a great time for Dr. Black, his wife, and the staff to have fun together at dinner out on the town.
Chintimini Wildlife Center- Art is Wild Fundraiser
Who could say no to this little face?
One of our favorite local causes is the Chintimini Wildlife Center, a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation and education center located right here in Corvallis. The Chintimini Wildlife Center cares for injured and orphaned birds and animals. Their goal is to return animals to their natural habitat and help people learn about the incredible wildlife found in the Corvallis area.
On April 21st, they’re hosting an Art is Wild Fundraiser, at the Corvallis Country Club. Tickets are $35 ($45 at the door) and there will be:
- Amazing pieces from local artists
- Silent & live auctions
- Great food, beer, wine, and cocktails
All the proceeds will be going to a great cause and we’re excited to help! Our team at Timberhill Dental is donating a gift basket (worth over $400!) to be auctioned off at the event.
We hope to see you there!
SAGE Summer Concert Series by Corvallis Environmental Center
Don’t you just love summer in Corvallis? After so many rainy, grey winter months we just love to get outside and enjoy the long warm days of summer. One of our favorite summer events is the SAGE Summer Concert Series put on by the Corvallis Environmental Center— and Timberhill Dental will be one of the event’s sponsors!
Here’s what you need to know:
- Concert Dates? July 13th, July 27th, August 10th, August 17th
- Where & When? 6pm to 9pm at the amphitheater in Bruce Starker Arts Park
- How Much? Admission is FREE, but a donation of $10 per group is suggested. All proceeds help raise funds for the SAGE garden program.
Did You Know…
The Starker Arts Garden for Education (SAGE) is a 1-acre garden in Bruce Starker Arts Park. Community volunteers help tend the garden and the food grown is donated to Corvallis area food banks and soup kitchens.
Every year, the SAGE program produces over 6,000 pounds of healthy, nutritious food!
Programs at SAGE help children and adults learn to garden, grow their own food, and give back to the local community! The Timberhill Dental team is very proud to help support this amazing cause.
Annual Patient Appreciation Swim Party
From our 2016 pool party!
This one’s still a few months off, but we’ll be hosting our Annual Patient Appreciation Swim Party at the Osborn Aquatic Center’s Otter Beach pool!
We’ll be sending out invitations in June and our party is on July 14th from 6:15PM to 7:45PM! As always, there’ll be awesome raffle prizes!
Timberhill Dental Community Scholarship
Do you know a college student– or anyone who plans on attending college in 2017? Tell them about our scholarship program! We’re proud to be offering a $1,000 scholarship to an outstanding student!
We’re always trying to improve our community and we want to hear the big ideas students have for changing their communities. You can read more about the Community Star Scholarship here, including how to apply. Don’t delay, the application deadline is June 1, 2017.
In Case You Missed It: Our 2016 Giving Tree
One of our favorite holiday traditions at Timberhill Dental is our annual giving tree. We work with Trillium Family Services as part of their Holiday Giving Tree program for children at the Trillium Children Farm Home. This year’s Giving Tree helped dozens of boys and girls receive a Christmas gift!
We’re very proud to have hosted a tree every year since 2009!
